How Did I Love Myself Today

I can't believe I forgot to post this - from February!!

I had a lot of fun making this tag and I LOVE it!!  I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like and this came pretty close!  I used a couple Unity Stamp Company stamp sets and I love this sentiment 'How Did I Love Myself Today?'

Here's a close up of the Faber Castel Texture Luxe in silver applied through a Tim Holtz stencil.

Happy Valentine's Day from Sampson and I :)

You Are Loved

A quick Valentine card for hubby using the Simon Says Stamp February 2015 Card Kit.  I had seen this card online and loved the gold gelato for the background so I dug into my stash of card kits.  It's so shimmery in real life.  The sentiment, heart and arrows are all rub-ons :)

You Are My Happy

Hi friends!!  I know, it's been a long time - I've been busy, sidetracked, you name it - Hope you're still with me :)  Things have slowed down now and I can finally get back to spending some time in my crafty room!!  Actually I whipped up this card for my hubby for Valentine's Day - just prior to us leaving for our wedding in Mexico!  Something quick and simple.  I did some watercolouring, stamped a sentiment using a CTMH stamp and then die cut with this super cute Simon Says word bubble die.  Popped that onto a card base with a little bit of background stamping and there you have it.  Easy Peasy :)

Jar of Hearts

Surprisingly my daughter asked me for help in creating 'A Jar of Hearts' for her boyfriend.  She wanted to add 100 things she loved about him to the jar - 2 days before she planned to give it to him!!  So at first I was like okay - I grabbed all my punches, dies, papers and stamps that were love or valentine related, some spritzes and sprays and paints and began creating.  I tried to do something different on each one.  That got me to about 40 something and then I handed the job over to her lol.

Here is the jar that I made for the hearts - I just used my glue gun to add the paper and ribbon/twine to the lid.  Once they were all done, the jar was pretty full.

Sealed With A Kiss

Here is the card I made for my Hubby for Valentine's Day this year.  I had envisioned this one in my mind since I received the Warmth of Winter stamp set from Unity.  I coloured the foxes with distress markers and a watercolour brush.  I masked them and stamped the woodgrain background with second generation Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I toyed with the idea of creating the hearts through the stencil by rubbing distress ink through it, but that was before I decided to to use the woodgrain background.  Then I thought of using clear embossing paste tinted with colour and I love how it turned out.  The sentiments are from Unity's January KOM - Magic of Beginnings.  The inside reads 'The Best is Yet to Be'.

I'm entering my card in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - All Creatures Great and Small and The Pink Elephant Challenge #285 - Be My Valentine

I'm also entering in Unity's Friends With Flair post this Friday.

Valentine's Day treat box

This is so sweet!!  I found a couple tutorials for this - one for the treat box (click here for box tutorial) and one for the bow (click here for bow tutorial) using the envelope punch board. Since I don't have any dies or cricut cartridges for these bows, I was quite pleased.  I couldn't resist either of them. This little treat box is for my niece. I'll fill it full of her favorite - gummy bears :)

I coloured the little girl with stampin up markers and covered her dress with Smooch pearl top coat. Papers are the More Amore dsp. My favourite parts are the bow and the brad that keeps the box closed.

One More Valentine.......

I have one more Valentine to share - this was for our friend's daughter. I decided to try a shaped card and since the image was already on the scalloped background I made a scalloped card! She really loved it! I used Cupid Emily again from Sparkle Creations. Told you, I couldn't get enough of this image!! Enjoy!

I'm entering this card in The Crafty Pad's Challenge #108 - Hearts.

Valentine Goodies

I made a couple goodie bags for me nieces today. Just a couple brown paper bags spruced up to be all girly and valentiny! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the top and some Pretty in Pink Taffeta Stampin Up ribbon on one and some glittery red ribbon on the other. The image is Sparkle Creations Cupid Emily which I won a while back and I've used her more than any stamp I own I think!! She is so much fun to colour and so versatile. The dp is Bo Bunny Crazy Love. I added a Prima flower to each with a tiny heart brad and of course some Crystal Stickles and rhinestones for bling. I'm not sure if you can tell but I used some Stampin Up Pretty in Pink ink around the images after cutting and embossing the nestabilites.

I'm entering these in The Crafty Pads Challenge #108 - Hearts and Paper Sundaes Challenge #56 - Pick Your Toppings. I picked Pink and Flowers.

Love You

I wanted to share this card with everyone! It is a card I made at my last card class with Jen. We used Stampin Up's Valentine Defined stamp set. It is so sweet, I absolutely love those heart reeds or whatever you want to call them. They are the reason I will probably buy this set, lol!!

I have never brayered before and this was so cool! I loved it!! We used Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Real Red to achieve the different levels of colour. I think my favourite thing about this card is that we used old olive and black ink for the heart reeds and the taller ones actually look like they are further away in the sunset.
We did some masking and sponging to create the sun and the glittery paper is Stampin Up as well.

Bee Yourself........Bee Mine!

Way, way back in the warm sunny days of summer (seems so long ago) I made two of these cards after being inspired by Kristina Werner and one of her Finally Friday cards. Sorry about the dark photos, the one card I photographed outside in the summer, the other inside tonight, boy can you tell the difference (and that's after editing!!). I used CTMH's Bee Mine mini set, My Mind's Eye Home dp and Stampin Up Vanilla cs. I wanted to use paper that wasn't traditional valentine colours and I really liked the patterns on these papers as well. The two cards are identical except for the bees which I used the Spica Clear Glitter pen on one, and champaign Stickles on the other. I had a lot of fun making these cards and I like the message. My daughter is going to give them to a couple of her friends.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi! Hopefully my daughter doesn't see this because this is for her!! This is Cupid Emily - I won her from Sparkle Creations a little while ago and was sooo looking forward to making a card with her. I used this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp Challenge Sketch #25 for the card.

I used Bo Bunny's Crazy Love dp again on kraft cs that was embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. And guess what! I probably haven't mentioned it, but my hubby got me a sewing machine for Christmas (Yahhhhh!!!!) so this is the first card I tried on my own. I've sewn on a couple cards at my card classes and was soooo nervous both times, I haven't used a sewing machine since high school, lol!!

I also used some little red Bella bling and some Diamond Stickles on her wings. This was a really simple card to put together but I love the simplicity of it. I think the kraft cards are my favourite right now!! The sentiment is from Hero Arts Valentines Sayings.
I'm also going to enter this in Paper Sundaes Challenge #51 - Circles.
Paper: Bo Bunny Crazy Love, Stampin Up Real Red cs, kraft cs
Stamps: Sparkle Creations Cupid Emily, Hero Arts Valentines Sayings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Copics
Accessories: Nestabilities, Diamond Stickles, Bella Dots

You Know You Love Me

This is my first Valentine card for this year. I had my hubby in mind when making it :-).

So this is Betty! I love this paper pad, Bo Bunny Crazy Love and I always knew I'd use Kraftin Kimmie's Betty with it. The little pearls are mocha coloured Opaques from CTMH and that adorable brad is from the coordinating set of brads from Bo Bunny's Crazy Love line. The Hugs and Kisses image is from the Hero Arts Valentine Sayings set. I used some Ranger Distress Ink to distress the sentiment and the background to Betty. Betty was cut out and adhered to the background and then I used some pop-up dots to adhere the image to the card. I also used some really cool adhesive called Kool Tak Micro. It is adhesive dotted sheets which were recommended to me at one of my card classes at Dat's. I used it to adhere the two ribbons and the bottom half of the image. The cotton lace ribbon is from one of the local dollar stores. Can't beat that!! I used some Crystal Stickles on Betty's eyelids and the flower on her sleeve and then my clear Glitter Spica Atyou Pen on her stockings. She's pretty hot I think!!

I used this weeks Sketch #136 from Friday's Sketchers.

I'm also entering this card for Paper Sundaes Challenge #51 - Circles. If you look closely you'll see the background dp is full of all kinds of little circles.

Paper: Bo Bunny's Crazy Love dp, Stampin Up Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink cs
Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie's Betty, Hero Arts Valentine Sayings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Phota and Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink VintCopics
Accessories: Bo Bunny brad, CTMH Mocha Opaques, ribbon from stash, Crystal Stickles, Clear Atyou Spica glitter pen
