Live in the Moment - Finnabair Collage

One of my most favourite projects I've completed!  A class with Sharon from The Scrapbook Cottage - it was very kind of her to lug all her supplies 8 hours for this class in addition to the trailer full of products for her on-site store at our local Crop & Create Event.

We used lots miscellaneous bits of bobs and art stones were adhered down and covered with white gesso.  Several different Finnabair waxes were applied over top in layers to get the looks seen.

Hard to believe the page started out like below isn't it??

Special Delivery - Mixed Media Canvas

These two canvases came about by accident.  My daughter was experimenting with paint pouring and these were the two she made with reds and greens.  She left them to dry and then I started to see something......

I collaged some Tim Holtz Christmas ephemera on to them and covered everything with a matte medium.  I then added some silver paste through a word stencil, ran around the edges of everything to ground them a bit, added a couple acrylic stars and they were done!!

Now she has her own hand made Christmas decorations.

Winter Wonderland - Unity Planner Journal

Of course I had to get a Christmas page done in my Planner Journal.

The images were coloured with copic markers and then I stencilled some silver paste through a stencil to complete the winter scene.

Crop & Create 2018 - Vicki Boutin's Mixed Media Class

I never miss a chance to take one of Vicki's classes.  This year it was a mixed media mini album.  Lots of  fun inky techniques :)

Once I got home the fun continued......

Remember to be Thankful - Art Journal Page

Another journal page I couldn't resist trying!!  I chose to create this in my black Mixed Media Journal on the watercolour paper.

The background started with crinkled patterned tissue paper (Dina Wakley) and then applied light gesso in the centre and heavy gesso around the edges.  I stamped into the heavy gesso with a swirly script stamp (Dina Wakley) to add even more texture.

Then some paint dripping with the pink and yellow.  The colour on the edge was diluted with a satin glazing liquid to make it kind of opaque and glossy and then some of the colour was rubbed off.  Really fun techniques.  Then some more stamping with black ink and adding the hearts and words.

You can watch the process video by Mixed Media Jenn on youtube here.
