Happy Belated Birthday

Here is the third card of four birthday cards I need this month. Actually the birthday was in July but luckily we haven't got together yet so I'm good!!

I continued with the Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss paper pack. This time I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Eleanor. She was fun to colour. I used a bit of some homemade glitter spritz on the flowers and some Hero Arts gems for the center. And for a bit more bling, I added some Diamond Stickles to the flowers on Eleanor's hat. The sentiment was popped up using some mini pop dots.

I finally made my own cloud background with some sponge and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I simply cut out a piece of cardstock in the shape of a cloud and sponged around it all over the white background of the stamped image. I'm very happy with how it turned out and it's actually not so intimidating like I thought :-)

I used I Love 2 Stamp's August Sketch for You to Try.

I'm also entering this in the Crafty Calendar's August Challenge - Hot Colours and The Crafty Pad's Challenge #134 - Cute n' Girly and of course I also entered The Spotted Chick's That's Krafty Thursday #53.

Paper: Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss, Stampin Up Night of Navy cs, kraft cs
Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie Eleanor, Amy R's Birthday Sentiments
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, Copics
Accessories: glitter mist (flowers), Diamond Stickles, Hero Arts gems, flowers from stash, Mini Pop Dots

I also used my new Stampin Up cs and ink Baja Breeze - I inked up the edges of the kraft cs with the Baja Breeze Ink.

The Crafty Pad Challenge #115 - Flowers

Hello!! Guess What??!! I have been asked to be a guest designer this month over at The Crafty Pad's Challenge Blog, and I couldn’t be more flattered! This is my first gig!!

The Challenge this week is 'flowers' and I used this adorable image called ‘Cat in Window’ from The Crafty Pad, which you can find here. The sponser this week is Crafty Emma's Store. Hope you can join in!

For my card I wanted to use this pretty paper - Mabel by My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Collection and I used The Sweet Stop's Sketch 98. I thought the sentiment from CTMH's Sensational Season was perfect. Did you notice I paper peiced the curtains? I thought it provided so much more interest than just colouring them. Not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I used a bit of my Spica Clear Glitter pen on the flowers and the heart on the kitty's chest.

Paper: My Mind's Eye Mabel, Stampin Up Crumb Cake and Not Quite Navy
Stamp: My Crafty Pad's Cat in Window (Digital), CTMH Sensational Season
Ink: Copics, Wild Honey and Vintage Photo DistDistress Ink, SU Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Stampin Up Scallop Punch, CTMH Pearl Opaques, Prisma flowers , Spica Clear Glitter Pen
This card is dedicated to Su Ling and Mingo (my two Siamese Cats who are no longer with me).
I'm entering this card in Paper Sundaes Challenge #63 Spring Blossoms and Catch the Bug's Anything Goes as well.

Arigato

Hi - it's been a long time!! Well here are two cards I've been working on. They're for my two friends at work (I'll call my Sushi Buddies). Every payday we try to go for lunch and sushi is always top on the list for all three of us!! This image was perfect - her name is Wasabi Ketto from Stamping Bella. The dp is from KaiserKraft's Peachy Keen Collection. I used copics to colour her. A little bit of Diamond Stickles and some CTMH Opaques on one and some rhinestones on the other. Since I used a bit of ribbon, this will qualify for Crafty Pad's Challenge #111 - Use Ribbon. The sentiment inside is computer generated. I'm also entering this in Catch the Bug's Challenge - Scallops.

Paper: Kraft cs, KaiserKraft Peachy Keen
Stamps: Stamping Bella's Wasabi Ketto
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Copics
Accessories: Nestabilities, Diamond Stickles, CTMH Opaques, rhinestones from stash, Sakura Clear and Black Glaze pens

Hey Cupcake!

The challenge at All That Scraps this week is a sketch.

This is my favourite kind of challenge. I'm also entering this in The Crafty Pad's Challenge #110 Something Yummy For Your Tummy, how perfect is that? I decided to use a stamp I hadn't inked up yet and out came Cupcake Kiki from C.C. Designs. She is actually one of the first stamps I bought! I love the bright colours of this paper, KI Memories Sweet Life. I wasn't going to put a sentiment on the front, but after this picture was taken I added 'Hey Cupcake' from Amy R's Birthday Sentiments, I couldn't resist!! It's a busy card for me, but I like it and I think it's a great card for young girl. I actually have a card for my stash - and it's not much of a stash either!!

After colouring her with my copics I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the cupcake, some glassy accents to the baubles in her hair and a little rhinestone to the flower in her hair. And to top it all off, I added the Bella Donuts to the corners! The scallops on the dp were made with the EK Success Corner Rounder Punch, you just have to take off the paper guide and punch across the paper :-)

Inside was finished off with some more dp and the cupcakes and sentiment is from Amy R's Birthday Sentiments.

Paper: KI Memories Sweet Life, Kraft cs
Stamp: CC Designs Cupcake Kiki
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up Pink Passion
Copics: Hair - YR23, Y21, Y26; Skin - E50, E21, R20; Dress - R81, RV34, RV17; Cupcake and Shoes - BG01, BG05, BG07, E31, E33; Shadows - W2, W00, BG000

Valentine Goodies

I made a couple goodie bags for me nieces today. Just a couple brown paper bags spruced up to be all girly and valentiny! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the top and some Pretty in Pink Taffeta Stampin Up ribbon on one and some glittery red ribbon on the other. The image is Sparkle Creations Cupid Emily which I won a while back and I've used her more than any stamp I own I think!! She is so much fun to colour and so versatile. The dp is Bo Bunny Crazy Love. I added a Prima flower to each with a tiny heart brad and of course some Crystal Stickles and rhinestones for bling. I'm not sure if you can tell but I used some Stampin Up Pretty in Pink ink around the images after cutting and embossing the nestabilites.

I'm entering these in The Crafty Pads Challenge #108 - Hearts and Paper Sundaes Challenge #56 - Pick Your Toppings. I picked Pink and Flowers.

Happy New Year 2011!

Soooo, I said in my last post that I found this adorable Happy New Year Anya image over at Splendid Stamping With the Greeting Farm and I couldn't help but make a card with her. Funny though, I don't give out New Year's cards so she might just be a keeper. I gave myself an extra push today and forced myself to use more embellishments than normal. They intimidate me I guess - I tend to keep things minimal, partly because I like the minimal look, but also out of a fear of messing it up! That being said, I'm glad I went with it because I love how this turned out!! I used Basic Grey Olivia paper and distressed EVERYTHING just slightly with some Antique Linen Distress Ink and an edge distresser on the dp. I even used the distess ink on the ribbon and the flowers! And then came the bling!! I used a clear Atyou Spica pen on the Happy New Year and the 2011 on her sash; Diamond Stickles on her earings, shoes and under her dress; and the rhinestone flourish (which by the way was courtesy of Monique's blog candy I won a while back). Believe it or not, the ribbon was from a pair of pj's that I got as a gift. They were wrapped in a bundle with the ribbon, and of course I kept it!! Something else I tried new today was Anya's hair. I used a different technique and I'm thrilled with how that turned out too!!

I used Sketch #134 over at Friday's Sketchers and I'm also entering this for The Crafty Pad's Challenge #102 Anything Goes.

Paper: Basic Grey Olivia dp, Stampin Up Pretty in Pink cs, kraft cs
Stamp: The Greeting Farm (digi New Year Anya)
Ink: Tim Holtz Distess Ink Antique Linen
Copics: skin E50, E21, R20; hair E25, 33, 31; hat and sash R20 RV34; dress, shoes and earings BG000, 01, 45
Accessories: Nestablilites Large Circle and Blossom, Diamond Stickles, Atyou Spica Pen, Prima flowers, BG brads, ribbon and rhinestone flourish from stash

Warm Winter Wishes

Here is my newest Christmas card! I used Stampin Up Deck The Halls dp and Stamping Bella's Minty Coffee stamp. I decided to try something new for me on this card and I blended Pumice Stone Destress Ink for the background. I'm very pleased how this turned out. It's a great colour. I coloured the image with copics and added some champaigne stickles to the berries and leaves and around the steam swirls. The candy cane is glossed up with Glossy Accents. I also added some Liquid Applique under the mug for a snowy effect and added some more champaigne stickles to the snow And keeping with the snowy look I added a couple white snowflake brads. I like it - I like the colours and the overall feel of the card.

Paper: Stampin Up Deck the Halls dp, Coordinations Poinsetta cs
Stamps: Stamping Bella Minty Coffee, Amy R Winter Sentiments
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pumice Stone
Accessories: MS Punch, Prima Poinsetta, snowlake brads from stash, Liquid Applique, Glossy Accents; Champaigne Stickles, Nestabilites Labels Three
