Stress Free.....

Update on the new job - stress free! I love coming to work these days - been to Toronto once already for training, more to come. It's nice to be on your way to work at 7:30 am, I just wish it was easier for me to get up in the morning. Still working on that.......It's also nice coming home at 4!

New Job

Started my new job today! Will be going to the Sault for training next week. This is nice!! I feel comfortable and there's lots to learn. I saw the mixing technique today (of the cement) which was neat. All computerized and real time. Cameras show you everything in happening inside the mixing plant as it's loading the truck. The computer shows you all the ingredients going in......cool!

This is after - we tore out the wall between the kitchen and dining room and built an island, new light fixtures, new floor....

This is a before picture of the kitchen

HI

Hi again. Just me, still here! Geez I've been busy - moved twice - once to Don's then to our new house! Yes we bought a house!! So there's been plenty to do, painting, fixing, painting, cutting out walls, all just in time for Christmas. That was scary. We've done some great work here of course there's still lots to do. Maybe I should post some before and after pics. Next thing is in the spring - deck and garage out back for Don. We have five acres so there's plenty of room. The deck needs to be updated and then my gardening starts. Pictures of that for sure!!

'Just thinking....'

I've been thinking about you lots these days. Hope you're being strong. Do you realize this is the most recent picture I have of you? Other than one where you're in your housecoat and in the background of a picture I took of the girls playing dressup. That would be from last winter when Don and I were there. I didn't think you'd appreciate seeing that picture here.......I think I need some updates.............

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!!!!!!!

Ooooh, what a fun weekend! Shopping, shopping, shopping. I love shopping. Got a couple new outfits, yeahhhhh! I'll never tire of shopping and I love the styles these days, so much fun!! Anyways, got to see my girlfriend finally! We went to a nice mall in Roseville, MN, had lunch and shopped a bit. Now I'm excited for racing to start - then she can come and get me at the track and we can hang out!! Got the RV home in one piece - it's actually nice and I'm looking forward to some camping with the kids if we don't sell it first. They'll love it - so will I. Oh yea, went to the Aquairium in Duluth finally but I'm not going to tell my daughter because she'll be mad at me. So next time she's there, I'll take her too. It was pretty neat to see all the fish from the Great Lakes. I even saw my first live jelly fish. Very surreal. Oh and I touched a fresh water ray too. They were awesome. Wish I had one in my aquarium (smaller version of course). So.... back to the grind tomorrow..........

TGIF

Yup, thank God it's Friday!! Work is really pushing me to my limits these days. Too many indians, not enough chiefs (in my case it's italians, and they all want to be rulers). But, like I said, TGIF!! I'm taking off to the States with my hunny to bring home a motorhome. He's going to sell it here. Sooo, he just called and it sounds like we're leaving in a couple hours instead of the morning so that's good. I just have to grab a few things, make sure the pets are okay and then we're off. My new book is proving to be a good choice. I'm reading the Vampire Chronciles - Interview with the Vampire right now. I found myself today at work wishing I was curled up in my couch with it so that's a good indication. Hopefully I'll get to see my good friend for a quick visit tomorrow. She's looking a little 'goth' here, I don't know, was that the intention??!!

From the woods of fairies into the shadows of vampires

I finally made it over to Chapters tonight. I've been meaning to pick up a new book for my daughter and found a sweet little chapter book about fairies. Junie B. Jones doesn't seem to be as interesting to her as it used to be. So I thought maybe fairies. But that's not all I found, you see, I've been wanting to find a good read myself and so I had decided upon Anne Rice. I ended up taking home The Vampire Chronciles Volume 1 which is the first three books in one (Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned). This should prove interesting. I'm looking forward to some quiet reading time. I've found the perfect little book lamp and I'm ready to curl up with my tea! And so, this becomes my blog for today. I really am looking forward to diving into these stoies, I actually wanted to start with Lives of the Mayfair Witches but I didn't find any of them readily available so I decided on The Vampire Chronicles. I've heard good things about Anne's writing and so I'll keep you posted.........

P.S. the fairy book went over well with my daughter. Fairies - what a sweet idea as I embark into the world of Vampires!!!

Spiders & Snakes - Oh My!

Spiders and snakes in our groceries. Nice! I just read an interesting article (link expired)and now I'm a little bothered about all the grapes I've ever bought. Who thinks to inspect their grapes before they pick them up for spiders?? I don't, maybe I look for squished grapes, but that's about it!! Funny though, I've always had this fear about putting my feet into my slippers and finding out something was in there. I've watched too many 'National Geographic' shows I guess......

Sort of Stuck....

Well, I've been browsing and reading other blogs trying to get a feel for what people write about. It seems everyone has much more to say than I do. I used to find it difficult to write in a diary as well as our school log book. It seems everyone has opinions they want to share and even talk about their day to day lives. One thing I envy is some people's writing ability. Some are so descriptive. I'm usually stuck for words so this should be a challenge.

I commented on someone's blog this evening. She was talking about about a red-tailed hawk she saw so I filled her in on my experience last weekend at the sports show. Beautiful birds! Haunting, piercing, glaring steel grey eyes. I was two feet away from the bird and it was awesome! He was there with a falconer on a tether so I wasn't too worried about being attacked. Although I couldn't hold the birds stare. That was too freaky!
