You Belong Amongst the Flowers - Art Journal Page

Whoa!!  How's this for bright!!!  I'm having a bit of fixation with Art By Marlene if you can't tell by my last three posts :). For this background I simply collaged the whole page with a piece of her Rice Paper then added some white paint through the flower stencil, some stamping along the edges with Archival Ink and black splatters.  Easy peasy!! 

This time I tried my hand at watercoloring one of her flower images with her water-colour paints.  I need more practice for sure, but I still love how it turned out!  After watercoloring I added some dots with acrylic markers and then some white gel pen to the edges of the petals and the dots. I adhered this to my page and used a black Stabillo All pencil around the bottom for a bit of a shadow and then added the sentiment which was first applied to white cardstock and then cut.

My 6x6 journal is starting to fill up nicely :)

I fell for this stamp the moment I saw it - I knew I needed it.  She is called Autumn created for Unity Stamp Co. by Tracey Malnofski.

I used Distress Inks to watercolour.

A Mother....

I'm back with a Mother's Day card for my mother in law.  This is a Unity Stamp set called First Friend, Best Friend, Forever.  I watercoloured using my new Neocolor II crayons.  You might also notice I was playing a bit - staging the photo lol.  This was fun, but I had issues blurring the background even after changing to Aperture Priority on my camera.  But I'm still happy with how it looks.  I didn't have the sequins on the card when I first photographed, they were just used for the scene, then I thought hey - those would look great on the card!!  There's a bit of Wink of Stella on the flower buds for for a little sparkle.

Watercolour Play

Hi folks - I'm still here!!  Haven't had much time for crafting lately.  But I have been playing in my watercolour journal.  The cactus images are the CTMH Stuck on You stamp and die set.  Did a little masking with this one.  I used my Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints.

And this is a Unity Stamp called First Friend, Best Friend, Forever using my Neocolor II crayons.

You Are My Happy

Hi friends!!  I know, it's been a long time - I've been busy, sidetracked, you name it - Hope you're still with me :)  Things have slowed down now and I can finally get back to spending some time in my crafty room!!  Actually I whipped up this card for my hubby for Valentine's Day - just prior to us leaving for our wedding in Mexico!  Something quick and simple.  I did some watercolouring, stamped a sentiment using a CTMH stamp and then die cut with this super cute Simon Says word bubble die.  Popped that onto a card base with a little bit of background stamping and there you have it.  Easy Peasy :)

Season's Greetings

Still on my tag kick - I saw these tags using Penny Black stamps and had to make one myself!!  I love the watercolour background and these tiny images are from There She Goes Stamps.  I got this stamp set called Snowman Soup just before they closed shop.

I stamped the images in Archival ink and then watercolored the background around the images.  You can't tell in this photo but all the images are covered with clear Wink of Stella.  They're actually so shimmery.  I used some white Hero Arts embossing powder for the sentiment on black cardstock.  I plan to make a couple more - probably in a bright pink and a purple :)

These are my new Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paints.  They are gorgeous and vibrant.  They will take some getting used to as I've only really watercolored with distress inks, these are very creamy.
