Hey Cupcake!

The challenge at All That Scraps this week is a sketch.

This is my favourite kind of challenge. I'm also entering this in The Crafty Pad's Challenge #110 Something Yummy For Your Tummy, how perfect is that? I decided to use a stamp I hadn't inked up yet and out came Cupcake Kiki from C.C. Designs. She is actually one of the first stamps I bought! I love the bright colours of this paper, KI Memories Sweet Life. I wasn't going to put a sentiment on the front, but after this picture was taken I added 'Hey Cupcake' from Amy R's Birthday Sentiments, I couldn't resist!! It's a busy card for me, but I like it and I think it's a great card for young girl. I actually have a card for my stash - and it's not much of a stash either!!

After colouring her with my copics I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the cupcake, some glassy accents to the baubles in her hair and a little rhinestone to the flower in her hair. And to top it all off, I added the Bella Donuts to the corners! The scallops on the dp were made with the EK Success Corner Rounder Punch, you just have to take off the paper guide and punch across the paper :-)

Inside was finished off with some more dp and the cupcakes and sentiment is from Amy R's Birthday Sentiments.

Paper: KI Memories Sweet Life, Kraft cs

Make A Wish

So finally after a family get away to Minneapolis for a shopping (I mean hockey) tournament I was able to sit down and get to making a card. I've been having withdrawals!!

I have admired this card from Lucy Abram for a long time and I decided it was time to case it! I used some Stampin Up dp along with various Basic Grey buttons. The candles were coloured using a blender pen and ink. And guess where I found that ribbon?? On one of my purchases, the ribbon was the handle of the bag - so, I decided to use it - it was the perfect colour for what I wanted! My daughter requested that this card (for a friend of hers) was to be simple and not too girly. I think it fits.

Paper: Stampin Up dp
Stamps: Hero Arts Cellebrate All Day, CTMH True Friends
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up Ruby Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Yoyo Yellow, Pink Passion and Lovely Lilac
Accessories: Champagne Stickles, Nestablities Label 1, Stampin Up Blender Pen, Basic Grey buttons

One More Valentine.......

I have one more Valentine to share - this was for our friend's daughter. I decided to try a shaped card and since the image was already on the scalloped background I made a scalloped card! She really loved it! I used Cupid Emily again from Sparkle Creations. Told you, I couldn't get enough of this image!! Enjoy!

I'm entering this card in The Crafty Pad's Challenge #108 - Hearts.

Valentine Goodies

I made a couple goodie bags for me nieces today. Just a couple brown paper bags spruced up to be all girly and valentiny! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the top and some Pretty in Pink Taffeta Stampin Up ribbon on one and some glittery red ribbon on the other. The image is Sparkle Creations Cupid Emily which I won a while back and I've used her more than any stamp I own I think!! She is so much fun to colour and so versatile. The dp is Bo Bunny Crazy Love. I added a Prima flower to each with a tiny heart brad and of course some Crystal Stickles and rhinestones for bling. I'm not sure if you can tell but I used some Stampin Up Pretty in Pink ink around the images after cutting and embossing the nestabilites.

I'm entering these in The Crafty Pads Challenge #108 - Hearts and Paper Sundaes Challenge #56 - Pick Your Toppings. I picked Pink and Flowers.

Happy Birthday - Second of Three

So my mojo stuck with me last night and I was able to create another card which is part of a set of 3 cards I'm making. I'm not sure if I'll use them myself or give them as a gift. We'll see. So I continued with the same stamp set from Stampin Up called Oh So Lovely. I stuck with the same vanilla and crumb cake cardstock and the Brocade Background dp. This time though I used chocolate chip ink for the berries and shined them up with some Glossy Accents. The ribbon is from Close To My Heart and the eyelets from the Jumbo eyelets from Stampin Up. One more to go :-)

For You, First of Three

I went to my first Stampin Up Group class yesterday and now I'm really in the mood to do some Stampin Up stuff. I've been fighting with an idea for a card using a Greeting Farm Anya image - thought I would do a sketch last weekend which turned into maybe I'll do the sketch this weekend - which turned into, I just wanna do some Stampin Up Stuff, lolol, no colouring, no copics, no challenges, just some stamping and a card for no reason (for my stash)!
I guess I can't really say no colouring - I did try out my new Blending Pen which is tricky and will take some practice. A couple times I just wanted to go grab my water colour brush, but I perservered and I actually like how it turned out. I can tell the pen is good for small images. I wouldn't want to attempt a big image that's for sure! If anyone has any tips, feel free to leave them here for me :-)
I'm really loving the Crumb Cake paper and ink, which is new for me. I distressed the edges of the paper with Crumb Cake Ink and also used it for the flower stems. The flowers are Old Olive with a touch of Crumb Cake in the centre. I really like this Oh So Lovely set and I'm going to try some more cards with the other stamps and perhpad use some sparkle and Glossy Accents on the flowers. Maybe I'll make a set of them.....hmmmm....maybe.
The sentiment is from Vintage Labels, I was going to use one of the other images from the set but I didn't want to take away from the flower so I kept it small and used the Word Window Punch and just made it a little smaller to fit the saying. I feel good now! I guess I just had to change focus.
