How Did I Love Myself Today

I can't believe I forgot to post this - from February!!

I had a lot of fun making this tag and I LOVE it!!  I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like and this came pretty close!  I used a couple Unity Stamp Company stamp sets and I love this sentiment 'How Did I Love Myself Today?'

Here's a close up of the Faber Castel Texture Luxe in silver applied through a Tim Holtz stencil.

Happy Valentine's Day from Sampson and I :)

You Are Loved

A quick Valentine card for hubby using the Simon Says Stamp February 2015 Card Kit.  I had seen this card online and loved the gold gelato for the background so I dug into my stash of card kits.  It's so shimmery in real life.  The sentiment, heart and arrows are all rub-ons :)

Thinking of You

After attending the Autism crop last weekend I had the urge to play with my alcohol inks.  I'm in need (unfortunately) for some sympathy cards so I thought these would be perfect.

I'm So Glad I Live In A World Where There Are Octobers

Now we're going back to November '16 - another kit from Inky Fairy Designs - this time working on a canvas.  I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out!!  I actually had this displayed in my living room :)

Applied patterned paper with matte medium.

Then applied some chipboard leaves.

Applied gesso to mute everything.

Now the fun part!!  Applying the Dylusions paints with a brush and my fingers!!

Added a some Dina Wakley paint for some depth and drippage :)

Next was to stamp the pumpkins but instead of stamping on the textured canvas I stamped on tissue paper and applied with the matte medium.

The pumpkins were coloured in with the Dylusions paints after custom blending the colours with my fingers.  Then the white paint was added as well to create a base for the sentiment.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival ink and then outlined with a white gel pen.  I was definitely nervous to stamp the sentiment after all this work but thankfully it worked out!!  The pumpkins and the leaves were also outlined with a charcoal pencil for added depth and definition.

7th Art Journal Page - Dare To Be Different

Because I loved this kit so much I had to make a journal page using the sane techniques as the Hoop and Canvas found here :)

Gesso, book paper and multi media.

Gelatos and water to blend.

Pitt pen to ink stamp for background.

Dare To Be Different - Hoop and Canvas

I've been away from blogging far too long!!  but I have been crafting a bit and attending crops when I can :)  We're going back to October '16 here for this one!  I love mixed media, but I need direction still so kits are perfect for me.  This was a kit I picked up from Inky Fairy Designs.  I was intrigued by the canvas and hoop idea.  Scroll down to see the process :)

Had to show you all the supplies that came in the kit!!

I traced the hoop on the canvas then applied a couple layers of gesso.  Next I applied some book paper using multi medium and then a thin wash of gesso on top.

I added colour using gelatos and water, blending with fingers and baby wipes.

Rather than ink I used the Pitt pen to ink the stamp and add some background to the paper flowers.

Colour was added to the flower with the gelatos and then added a spritz of water to wash it out.

And then my all time favorite part, some Ashpalt paste was applied through the stencil.  This stuff is so cool!  Super gritty.

And last but not least placed the canvas in the hoop and coloured the wood with more gelatos and a baby wipe.
