Oh Little Star (shine bright) - Unity Planner Journal

I finally coloured up these cute little deer from Unity Stamp Co.  I gave them shiny noses with Glossy Accents and the light bulbs and little hearts have some shimmer from Wink of Stella.  The snowflakes are Glitz glitter gel through a Tim Holtz stencil, Flurries.  The border is a couple washi tapes I've had for some time in my stash.

You can really see the shimmer in the Glitz glitter gel in the close up.

Weird is Just a Side Effect of being Awesome - Unity Planner Journal

Love this little guy and the sentiment!!  I decided I wanted to sort of mimic a card I made with him quite a while back but this time I decided to colour him.  You can see the card I made for him here.  I did a bit of masking along the edges so I could get the red and black borders and then I lined the inside of the black with Glossy Accents and sprinkled Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter.  I like this glitter because it stays put!!

I coloured him with copics and added Glossy Accents to his lenses and added some ink through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars stencil for the starry background.

Don't Wait for the Storm to Pass - Unity Planner Journal

A page for April - this year is quite different then any me or my family has lived through.  Thankfully we are all healthy so far during this Covid 19 pandemic.

She was coloured with copics and then I masked her and ink blended two colours of Distress Ink for the background.  I added clear Nuvo Drops to the rain drops.

Notice the People Who Are Happy For You - Unity Planner Journal

I have wanted to colour up these little cuties forever!  And I especially love the sentiment!  The owls were coloured with copics and finished with some Stickles.  I created the border by masking off the centre and ink blended with my new Taylored Expressions blending brush set.  Then I added little white dots over the ink with a white gel pen.  It's always fun thinking of new ways to decorate my pages and still keep them flat and one layer.

The Chill of Winter - Unity Planner Journal

This was a fun simple page, just what I need sometimes when I feel the urge to craft - I coloured the trees with copics and added light blue to the background. Then I used some Nuvo Drops for the snow and to border the block words and called it done!

City Sidewalks Busy Sidewalks - Unity Planner Journal

Ooooh this was a fun page to do - the image is coloured with copics and then I went over the green presents with a CTMH shimmer pen.  The background was inked with distress ink through a Newton's Nook Music Note stencil - I tried to tie in the background to the sentiment - whenever I read the sentiment I hear the song in my head.

Beauty - Unity Planner Journal

For this planner page I tried my hand at a monochromatic look.  I think it turned out pretty good.  I like to keep the pages flat and one layer but I couldn't resist adding these enamel dots, I think they complete the page.  There's just a hint of shimmer on the script and the flowers in there hair.

Strength - Unity Planner Journal

I finally got myself some Nuvo Drops.  I used them to finish of this page in my Unity Planner Journal.  Very simple, very muted.  A little pink on the flowers and some shadows and that was all it needed.

Winter Wonderland - Unity Planner Journal

Of course I had to get a Christmas page done in my Planner Journal.

The images were coloured with copic markers and then I stencilled some silver paste through a stencil to complete the winter scene.

And Suddenly You Just Know - Unity Planner Journal

I loved colouring this Angie Girl for my planner journal.  No washi tape this time, but I did do some ink blending through a stencil for the sky.

A bit about my planner process - I have several stamped images like below inserted into each month.  When I decide I want to colour one up, I just go to the month it happens to be and start to plan how I want the page to turn out.  Once it's coloured, I decide how I want to finish the background.  I try to keep the pages flat and not add anything that will bulk up the planner

Here's an interesting view of the back of the page after I've coloured it with copic markers.

Suddenly You Just Know It's Time - Unity Planner Journal

The first page in my Planner Journal for 2018 - I wanted to get a bit more creative with the background so I stencilled the sun rays behind the butterfly using a Tim Holtz stencil and adhered some nice bright Jane Davenport washi tape.  Love it!!

She Believed - Unity Planner Journal

I love Unity Stamps and have a lot of them - so I decided to make an Art Journal using a beautiful Navy Websters Pages A5 planner and Simple Stories Carp Diem inserts.

This was my first entry, using the Unity Stamp set 'She Never Says Never' coloured with copics.  Since the paper is not really meant for inks and paints I have to be creative how I decorate the pages so for this I simply used some washi tape and a fine line pen to create a border.
