Hello Sweet Baby

Hello there :)  Today I'm sharing a super sweet CAS baby card.  I never have baby cards on hand and always have to make them when needed. I recently picked up this sweet stamps set called Sweet Elle from Unity Stamp Company and one of the sentiments was for a baby, the other for a birthday.  I decided on the baby sentiment and went with neutral colours so it would work for a girl or boy.

I stamped on Ranger's Distress Watercolor paper with StazOn ink and watercolored with my Distress Markers.  For my colours I decided to use these from Unity's {be inspired} Challenge.  I am sharing this at Unity's Friends With Flair tonight.

I am entering this in the Less Is More Challenge - Up, Up and Away and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Clean and Simple.

Art Journal Reveal - Every Great Dream Begins With A Dreamer

'Every great dream begins with a dreamer.  Always remember you have within you the strength the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world'.  What an awesome sentiment!!

Hello - yes it is that time again.  I get to share my fourth art journal entry!  This time Tracy and I decided it was going to be a girly theme, and I really wanted to add a spring feel to mine.  My newest haul from Unity Stamp Company included several girly stamps, this stamp in particular is called Dream Girl by Angie Blom.  I love the image and the sentiment.  I felt there was enough said so I didn't add any other sentiments.  I wanted it to be feminine, airy, springy...... and I think I achieved that.

I had started by stamping the Dream Girl image and then masking a border around my pages.  Then I used distress inks to watercolour the background.  These pages are not watercolour paper so it was a bit challenging to watercolour and I had to really layer the colour.  I seemed to need a lot of water to spread the ink.  I applied the three colours, dried them, then applied more colour, let it drip a bit and dried again.  The other challenge for me was to stamp the birds since it's a large stamp and I wanted them to go across both pages, but it turned out pretty good.  The right side of the journal is pretty bulky and uneven.

The flowers stamp was inked with distress markers.  After stamping them in first and second generation, I decided this is where I was going to leave it - nothing else required.

Except a little Wink of Stella on her face and the heart :)

I am entering this in:

Ink:  Stormy Sky, Milled Lavender, Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo Distress Inks; Tattered Rose, Shabby Shutters and Shaded Lilac Distress Markers

4th Art Journal Page - Sneak Peek

You know, being away from your supplies gives you a lot of motivation to create!!  Don't get me wrong I wouldn't swap the beach for anything!!  After I got home from my tropical vacation in Cuba, I couldn't wait to play in my art journal.  I had ideas swirling about what I wanted to do and the deadline was two weeks away.  Here is a sneak peek of my fourth art journal page.

Before starting my pages, I always test new techniques in my other journal book.  Here I watercolored with distress inks over gesso and then used a stencil and baby wipe to remove some of the ink.  Below the stencil pattern I watercolored with distress inks without gesso on the page.  After I'm done I write down the supplies and technique on the page in case I want to refer back to it again.
